Common nightshade -The Asian Age


Is a small plant with branches, growing to a height of two to three feet. Its leaves are blackish green while its very tiny flowers are white in colour. It produces small round shaked fruits which look green in their unripe condition but turn yellow and dark red when they ripen. 


One finds kakmachi all over Bangladesh. It is mostly seen in abandoned spots and by the side of walls. It is mostly seen in abandoned spots and by the side of walls. 

Generally, it is seen in large numbers during the rainy season. Kakmachi has many medicinal properties. It is used in the treatment of piles and in the diseases of the rectum, the skin and the heart.
