Seven die in Cox's Bazar road crash -The Asian Age

Seven people were killed and five others injured in head-on collision between a bus and human-hauler in Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar on Tuesday morning.

Five of the deceased were identified as Abul Kashem, 23, son of Saiful Alam, Zahir Ahmed, 30, son of Mansur Alam, Rokeya Begum, 37 and her daughter Bashanti Shikder, 14, of Chakaria upazila and Khair Ahmed, 37, driver of the human-hauler of Lohagara upazila.

Nur-e-Alam, in-charge of Siringa Highway Police camp, said the accident took place when a Dhaka-bound bus of 'Starline Paribahan' collided head-on with the human hauler in Baratoli Rastarmatha area around 11:00am, leaving four passengers of the leguna, including its driver, dead on the spot and eight others injured.

Three of the injured died on the way to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital. On information, police went to the spot and rescued the injured, added the police officer.
