'Specialized educational institutions necessary' -The Asian Age


Rajshahi city will get more specialized educational institutions for generating skilled human resources to meet up its gradually mounting demands.Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation AHM Khairuzzaman Liton made this observation while addressing the fresher reception function of Madar Box Home Economics College in the city on Saturday as chief guest, reports BSS.

"We have to build specialised educational institutions to meet up the demands of present era", Liton said adding that establishing works of Rajshahi Medical University has been started. In future, a full-fledged agricultural university and a girl's cadet college will be established here to meet up the long-cherished demand of people.

Chaired by former chairman of Rajshahi Education Board Prof Shirin Sufiya Khanom the meeting was addressed, among others, by Principal of New Government Degree College Prof Jarjis Kader and Principal Madar Box Home Economics College Prof Shalma Shahadat. Mayor Liton said qualitative and quantitative education can be the vital means of generating skilled human resources together with lessening the gradually mounting pressure of unemployment problem.

All concerned including teachers and students should come forward and work together to make the institution level teaching-learning process more effective to attain the cherished goal of boosting the sector of competent workforce. Liton said the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for both qualitative and quantitative improvement of education to take the nation forward.

Government has adopted diversified programmes. He urged the teachers to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity.and honesty to supplement the government endeavor of transforming the young generation to worthy citizen through education.
