Bangabandhu's birth anniversary celebrated in Tokyo -The Asian Age


The Embassy of Bangladesh in Tokyo celebrated the 99th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children's Day 2019 in a befitting manner with due festivity. The program was participated by a large number of children, parents and representatives of Bangladesh community in Japan along with the mission's officials. 

The program of the day included placing wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation; reading out the messages issued by the President, Prime Minister, Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs; quiz competition on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh; dress-as-you-like competition on Bangabandhu, Bangladesh and Liberation War and other contests participated by the children.

At the beginning of the program, Ambassador Rabab Fatima together with the children paid tributes to the Father of Nation by placing a wreath at the portrait of Bangabandhu.  This was followed by a special prayer seeking Jannah for Bangabandhu and his family members.The ambassador shed light on the life and achievement of Bangabandhu and explained how the birth of Bangladesh is intertwined with the birth of Bangabandhu, said a press release.

Expatriate Bangladesh community members also took part in the discussion to pay their homage to the Father of the National and to gratefully recall the visionary leadership of Bangabandhu who led the entire nation to the Liberation War and created an independent Bangladesh.Crests were distributed amongst the winners in different competitions. Chocolates, books and graphic novel 'Mujib' were also distributed among the children.

A group of children from 'Sharawlipi Cultural Academy', who learn Bangla culture and language, led the audience to sing the national anthem of Bangladesh. After that, they performed different colorful cultural programs. Finally, all the children participated with the ambassador in cutting the cake to celebrate the birthday of Bangabandhu and to say 'Happy Birthday Father of the Nation'.
