He sent a sub inspector to see what happened. After a while some people dragged a young man of 25 or 30 years to Assistant Police Commissioner Jahidul Islam. The people told the police officer that the man was running away from Shwapno Supershop stealing milk. The man broke into tears when the police officer asked him what made him steal milk from the shop.
He said he has been jobless for three months. He was penniless. He has a small child at home but he has no money to buy milk for his kid. Then the police officer asked how much was the price for the milk. It was 390 taka, the security guard of the supershop said.
Assistant Police Commissioner Jahidul Islam paid 500 taka to the security guard and asked him to let the man go. The police officer expressed his sadness over the plight of unemployed people in the country through a facebook post. There are so many jobless youths all over Bangladesh some of whom are getting involved in crimes, he stated.
