Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has said that Bangladesh is equal to Canada in terms of economic growth. AHM Mustafa Kamal made this remark on Saturday while having a meeting with the higher officials of National Board of Revenue (NBR) in the capital.
AHM Mustafa Kamal further said that Bangladesh is one of the top most rising countries in the world. He criticized some private research institutions for finding faults with Bangladesh's economy all the time.
AHM Mustafa Kamal said that World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) have highly admired Bangladesh's economic progress. Bangladesh has tremendously succeeded in eradicating poverty, upgrading literacy rate and expanding digital technology all over the country. All these breakthroughs have transformed Bangladesh into a development role model, he stated.
Most of the other countries now follow the track of Bangladesh as far as development is concerned. AHM Mustafa Kamal called upon everyone to work hard to drive Bangladesh further ahead. He praised the valiant efforts of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the socio-economic advancement Bangladesh has achieved during last few years.
Bangladesh has meanwhile graduated from the least developed countries (LDC). At the same time Bangladesh has set a wonderful example by empowering women, AHM Mustafa Kamal commented.
