The long tradition of recruitment trade in police has started to break. Police headquarters gave a strict directive to recruit trainee constables in every district of the country in a fair and transparent manner. Brahmanbaria Police Super Md Anowar Hossain Khan made a promise to recruit constables in exchange of only Tk 103. He also took a firm stance not to recruit police members as per the list provided by influential people.
Some 98 men and women from nine upazilas of the district were selected as trainee constables on Tuesday after physical, written and viva tests. SP Anowar Hossain Khan announced the results at drill shed of Brahmanbaria Police Lines. 39 men and 59 women from nine upazilas of the district have been recruited. After announcing the result, Police Super talked at a press conference.
Anowar Hossain Khan said, "Constables have been recruited in a fair and transparent manner on the basis of talent and eligibility. Job seekers were made conscious through different campaigns so that they don't pay anyone money for getting recruited." Rangamati Additional Police Super (Admin) Md Sofiullah, Cumilla Additional Police Super (Sadar Circle) Tanveer Salehin Imon and Brahamanbaria Special Branch (SB) DIO-1 Md Imtiaz Ahmed were present at the press conference.
