8 houses gutted in Sylhet fire -The Asian Age

Eight houses were gutted as a fire broke out at Mahajan Polly in city’s Bandar Bazar on Wednesday noon. 

On information, two fire fighter units rushed in and doused the fire after one hour of frantic effort, said the fire fighter members.

The fire broke out from an electric short circuit around 2pm and engulfed its nearby houses, they added. 

Meanwhile, city corporation mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury and former mayor Badar Uddin visited the spot.
