Kader Siddique 'barred' from entering Bangabandhu Bhaban -The Asian Age

Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabeer Kader Siddique has alleged that he was barred from entering the Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi 32 where he was trying to go to pay tribute to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, marking his 44th martyrdom anniversary.

In a press release, KSJL Joint Secretary Principal Iqbal Siddique said on Thursday, "Bangabeer Kader Siddique, who solely protested the brutal assassination of Bangabandhu, has been barred from entering the Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi 32." "Bangabeer was waylaid by security officials of the Prime Minister while he was entering the Bangabandhu Bhaban at 4:00pm.

He was kept in waiting for about half an hour. Thereafter, Bangabeer came back from there," he added.Condemning the incident, KSJL General Secretary Habibur Rahman said, "Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Rehana told Bangabeer few years ago that Bangabandhu's Dhanmondi residence does not belong only to them, it belongs to him too. For this reason, Kader Siddique went to Bangabandhu Bhaban in the last several years and said Asr prayers there."

"Last year, Bangabeer was denied entry into the Bangabandhu Bhaban first, but he was later allowed to enter the house for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's intervention," he said.

Habibur said 'such behavior' of the government has proved that a part of the government wants to use Bangabandhu as government or party property, which is not desirable to the patriotic people of the country.
