BGB seizes goods worth Tk 81.9 crore -The Asian Age


Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods and drugs worth 89 crore 91 lakh and 2 thousand taka after conducting drives in November. The seized goods include 4,41,420 pieces of Yaba pills, 36,403 bottles of Phensedyl, 8,108 bottles of foreign liquor, 278 liters of local alcohol, 483 cans of beer, 571kg of hemp, 907 grams of heroin, 89,899 pieces of Enegro/Senegro tablets and 969 injections. Apart from this, the BGB personnel also seized 5kg 217 gram of gold, 11,152 imitation jewelries, 109,372 cosmetic materials, 1,257 saris, 275 pieces of three-piece/shirt piece, 1,325 pieces of readymade garments, 8,367 meters of cloth, 6 touchstone statue, 23, 420 cubic feet of wood, 1,699 kg of tea, 22 trucks, 3 pickup, 2 privet car, 11 CNG auto-rickshaws and 40 motorcycles. In addition, they also seized 2 pistols, 1 LG, 950 grams of gunpowder, and 6 rounds of bullets.  The BGB force also detained 265 people for smuggling and 374 people for border crossing.
