Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Deputy Governor Nobumitsu Hayashi had a meeting with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal at FM's office in the capital on Sunday. They talked about issues related to bilateral interests between Bangladesh and Japan.
Nobumitsu Hayashi said that the Japanese entrepreneurs are interested to invest in Bangladesh. AHM Mustafa Kamal said that a healthy investment atmosphere is prevailing in Bangladesh at this moment as the country has achieved a wide range of development during the recent years.
Nobumitsu Hayashi admired Bangladesh's progress with different sectors. AHM Mustafa Kamal later on spoke to journalists. He said that effective measures would be executed to recover defaulted loans. Moreover, he said that loan interest rate will be curtailed to single digit. Double digit loan interest rate hinders industrialization, he commented.
AHM Mustafa Kamal stated that Bangladesh's GDP growth rate will further increase as many more development programs are being implemented. Bangladesh is now a development role model in the world, he added.AHM Mustafa Kamal said that the goods Bangladesh manufactures will always have their demand in the global market.
