Proper evaluation of all formal and non-formal works of women along with household services can play an important role in establishing a society free from gender discrimination, according to experts.
They came up with the observation while speaking at the closing ceremony of a training workshop on Unpaid Care Work (UCW) jointly organized by the Press Institute of Bangladesh and ActionAid at the PIB conference room in the city on Tuesday.

Mentioning the role of mass media in evaluation and recognition of unpaid care work, Shaheen Islam said, "The household works done by women are important for the state, family and society and mass media can play a role in raising awareness about these care works by publishing features, news items and columns. It is necessary for the implementation of SDGs."
Zafar Wazed said, "The women should give due honor and their works at home should be evaluated with dignity. The newsmen can work for raising awareness in this regard. A nation cannot move forward keeping women behind. For this reason, works of women should be recognized." A total of 35 journalists took part in the workshop.
