Bangabandhu's Sonar Bangla is self-sufficient today. 160 million people of this country can't remain in hunger. The country has become able to achieve significant success in vegetables and fruits production though 1 percent agricultural land is being disappeared. As there has been achieved remarkable success in agriculture, the latest research outcomes are being implemented in various projects at field level.
We have achieved Bangladesh through the supreme sacrifice of 3 million people for which Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman dreamt for. Sonar Bangladesh has now achieved self-sufficiency in food. Bangladesh is an export-oriented country. There is no country such green like Bangladesh in the world.
Now, producing safe and nutritious food is a big challenge for us. The ruling government has reduced the prices of agricultural goods and equipments. With a view to increasing agricultural production and making farmers self-reliant, the government has taken various projects.
An agriculture development project is being implemented at 42 upazilas of Noakhali, Feni, Lakshmipur, Chattogram and Chandpur districts. The main objective of this project is to increase the tightness of grain taking char and barren lands of the project under cultivation. The strategy of the project is to cultivate hybrid and salt tolerant varieties, produce compost and vermicompost in order to increase fertility of soil, cultivate vegetables in organic farming method for food and nutrition safety.
These are our commitments on the occasion of Mujib birth centenary.
