Coaching teachers fined for defying ban in Kushtia -The Asian Age


Two school teachers were fined Thursday on charge of running coaching business at Daulatpur in Kushtia defying government prohibition.

Md Asgar Ali, the executive magistrate of the mobile court, fined each of the teachers - Md Alimun Hossain, 51, and Mushfiqur Rahman,52 - Tk 10,000 each on charge of carrying out the coaching business and endangering the community.

Alimun is an assistant teacher of English while Mushfiqur, an assistant teacher of Mathematics of DGM Secondary School, reports UNB. The Judge of the mobile court pronounced the verdict after conducting drive in DGM Secondary School of Daulatpur upazila.

Mobile court sources said that despite the government closing down all the educational institutions, coaching business and private tuition due to Coronavirus, a section of dishonest teachers were continuing coaching business at Sadar union of Daulatpur upazila defying government instruction.

Being informed about the running of coaching business, a mobile court led by Md Asgar Ali, Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate of Daulatpur, conducted the drive at the school where coachingĀ  of more one hundred students were going on in different rooms of the school.

The mobile court detained the teachers Md Alimun Hossain and Mushfiqur Rahman from there. The Judge fined Tk 10,000 each to the teachers for running coaching business defying government ban. Daulatpur Secondary Education Officer Sarder Md Abu Salek were present during the mobile court drive.
