3,01,509 get 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine in Rangpur -The Asian Age

The number of citizens who got the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine rose to 3,01,509 as 7,312 more people were inoculated with the jab on Saturday in Rangpur division.Health officials said the 7,312 citizens, who were inoculated with the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine yesterday, include 4,634 male and 2,678 female, of all eight districts in the division."

The total of 3,01,509 second dose recipient citizens, including 1,994,888 male and 1,06,621 female, previously got the first dose at least two months ago," Divisional Director (Health) Dr Md Ahad Ali told BSS on Saturday afternoon.

The district-wise break-up of the second dose recipient 3,01,509 citizens stands at 59,079 in Rangpur, 25,949 in Panchagarh, 40,93 in Nilphamari, 23,348 in Lalmonirhat, 25,535 in Kurigram, 32,583 in Thakurgaon, 65,332 in Dinajpur and 28,720 in Gaibandha.Meanwhile, none was vaccinated with the first dose of the jab since April 26 last in Rangpur division where the total number of citizens who got the first dose of the jab remained steady at 5,96,952.

The district-wise break-up of the first dose recipient 5,96,952 citizens stands at 1,68,569 in Rangpur, 44,498 in Panchagarh, 76,727 in Nilphamari, 37,344 in Lalmonirhat, 46,128 in Kurigram, 49,113 in Thakurgaon, 1,11,697 in Dinajpur and 62,876 in Gaibandha.After taking the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at Rangpur Medical College Hospital (RpMCH) vaccination centre on Saturday, some male and female citizens yesterday told BSS that they were feeling quite normal without any side effects.

Talking to BSS, Chief of Divisional Coronavirus Service and Prevention Task Force and Principal of RpMC Professor Dr. AKM Nurunnobi Lyzu said vaccination of citizens with the second dose of the jab continues smoothly in the division."Common people should properly abide by the health directives and wear masks while remaining outside even after taking the first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to remain safe and reduce the infection rate of the deadly virus in the division.
