BHBFC celebrates Sheikh Russell Day -The Asian Age

Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation (BHBFC) celebrates Sheikh Russell Day on 18 October with due dignity and solemnity as per the government decision to celebrate the happy birthday of Sheikh Russell, the youngest son of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and younger brother of the Prime Minister, on October 18 as a Category A day. Accordingly finalizing the program for celebrating the day BHBFC fixed and carried out 10 different programs. A discussion meeting, prayer and munajat based on the life of Sheikh Russell was held at 3.30 pm. BHBFC Managing Director Md Afzal Karim chaired the occasion. The Chairman of BHBFC board of Directors Prof Dr Md Salim Uddin, FCA, FCMA was virtually present as the chief guest in the discussion and prayers. Dr Salim, in his speech, pays tribute to Sheikh Russell. Officials and employees of all levels and representatives of different organizations of the corporation.

Earlier as a part of the day-long programs a wreath was laid at the portrait of Sheikh Russell at the Bangabandhu Pavilion of BHBFC headquarters at 10 am to pay homage to his memory led by Md. Afzal Karim, the Managing Director. Officials and employees of all levels and representatives of various organizations of the organization were present on the occasion. Then, the Managing Director inaugurated the program of broadcasting Sheikh Russell's life-based documentary on the TV of BHBFC Bangabandhu Pavilion and content on electronic display board of its head office building. As an another program of the day, under the supervision of the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance, high quality cooked food was distributed among the orphans and needy children of Manikganj Sarkari Shishu Poribar.
