New train service will be launched in Mymensingh-Dhaka-Chattogram railway, said Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon. He said, "All the closed railway stations will be opened including modernization of other stations of this region and launch a station at Agriculture University."
He made these announcements at a views exchange meeting on the occasion of inauguration of the construction of platform elevation of Mymensingh railway station, excess control and station renovation work on Thursday.
The ruling party lawmaker from the Panchagarh-2 constituency said, "Mymensingh railway station will be renovated as an iconic station in future. The meter gauge railway track of the country will gradually be converted to broad gauge line." State Minister Ministry of Religious Affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan, Secretary to Railway Ministry Md Selim Reza, Bangladesh Railway Director General Dhirendra Nath Mazumder, Mymensingh Zila Parishad Chairman Prof Yusuf Khan Pathan, Zila Awami League President Jahirul Haque Khoka, General Secretary Moazzem Hossain Babul, Deputy Commissioner Enamul Haque, Superintendent of Police Md Ahmaruzzaman, among others, were present on the occasion.
Earlier, Railway Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujon was greeted with floral bouquet by Zila Awami League, Railway Sramik League and other associate organizations.
