Three held with 170 bottles liquor in Kalmakanda -The Asian Age

 
Police detained three drug traders with 170 bottles of Indian liquor from Bordal area under Kalmakanda upazila in Netrakona at dawn on Saturday.
The detainees have been identified as Md Khairul, 22, son of Shahalam, Sumon Islam, 23, son of late Babul Miah and Md Monir, 21, son of Manik Miah of Baosham Boitakhali village under Kharnoi union of the upazila.

According to the police, acting on a tip-off, a police team conducted a raid at a checkpost at Bordal area. When the movement of a pick-up van was found suspicious, the police personnel carried out a search in the vehicle. Later, a total of 170 bottles of Indian liquor along with the vehicle were seized and three drug traders were detained in this connection.

Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kalmakanda police station, said, "The detainees have been sent to the court after lodging a case."
"Such drive against drugs will continue in future", the OC added.
