Birganj's four villages declared free from early marriage -The Asian Age

 
Four villages under Birganj upazila of Dinajpur district has been had been declared free from child marriage on Monday.
On the occasion, World Vision Bangladesh Birganj AP organized a celebration program to celebrate the achievement.

Upazila Chairman Md Aminul Islam inaugurated the celebration program as the chief guest while Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Fazle Elahi was in the chair.Speaking the occasion, Upazila Chairman Md Aminul Islam said, "Girls aren't burden of the society but asset. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been providing various aids including education scholarship to girls to ensure education for girls."

"We all know about the bad effect of child marriage. We must work together to save our young girls and boys from this evil force", he said.
He urged all to come forward to prevent child marriage from the society forever. "There is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina to build 'Smart Bangladesh'. We must vote for Nauka to bring Sheikh Hasina in power again", he further urged.

Birganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Abdur Razzaque, Paltapur UP Chairman Touhidul Islam, Sujalpur UP Chariman Md Nurul Islam, Nijpara UP Chariman Anisur Rahman Anis, Mohanpur UP Chairman Md Shahir Rahman Chowdhury Shahin, World Vision Bangladesh Nilphamari Area Coordinator Office Senior Manager Lotus Chishim, among others, were present on the occasion.

Among others, a large number of people along with local dignitaries and journalists were also present on the occasion.
