Bollywood stars at Madame Tussauds wax museum -The Asian Age
Anil Kapoor had dropped a few hints on social media before heading to unveil his wax statue at Madame Tussauds in Singapore. The statue mirrors an iconic moment from the Academy Award winning Hollywood film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’. The wax model will be there for his fans to have a look at and get themselves clicked with. The actor
unveiled the wax replica in a similar get up and posed with it and the visitors in a similar style.
Kareena Kapoor Khan's wax statue was recently unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Singapore. Draped in a red saree, the statue resembles Kareena from the song 'Chammak Challo' in RA.One. Bebo had restyled her waxed look in August 2014. Reportedly, she had given her 'Chammak Challo' saree to the museum authorities while visiting London. Her wax statue initially looked like her character in 'Mauja hi mauja' track from Jab We Met.
According to a report on Mid-day.com, Kareena Kapoor Khan's wax statue was missing at the time of the unveiling of Katrina Kaif's statue at Madame Tussauds in London. The Bollywood section of the museum houses the wax works of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit.
However, Kareena's statue is currently taken to another branch of Madame Tussauds so that her fans elsewhere can capture the moment with their favourite star, the report further stated.
Katrina Kaif is the latest Bollywood actress at Madame Tussauds, London. The actress unveiled the carefully sculpted wax statue in March 2015. The official Madame Tussauds Twitter handle had earlier tweeted, "Katrina has collaborated closely with our sculptors and artists to decide a dancing pose and outfit for the figure, having given a sitting in Mumbai where all the measurements required to create an accurate likeness were gathered. A team of 20 artists will work on the figure, which will cost £150,000 to produce."
Amitabh Bachchan is the first living Asian and Bollywood star to be immortalised at London's Madame Tussauds wax museum in 2000. Not only this, his wax statues were placed in New York in 2009, Hong Kong in 2011, Bangkok in 2011 and Washington, DC in 2012. According to an official statement, for the first time in the wax museum’s history, Bachchan was nominated by fans in a global online poll.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was the first Bollywood actress to have her wax statue at the prestigious Madame Tussauds wax museum in London in 2004, joining her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan. While Aishwarya is now married and a mother too, her wax statue draped in a saree, reminds of her yesteryear days. Dhak dhak girl Madhuri Dixit also makes her presence felt at the Madame Tussauds Museum in London. The star had unveiled her statue in 2012 with her husband, Dr Sriram Nene and sons Arin and Ryan. Madhuri’s statue resembles her perfectly. Designer Varun Bahl has designed the saree for the statue while Shaina Nath has styled it.
