An activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League was gunned down during a factional clash at Beanibazar Government College on Monday morning over establishing supremacy.
The deceased was identified as Khaled Ahmad, 23, son of Khalilur Rahman, a resident of Khasa village.
Chandan Kumar Chakrabortty, officer-in-charge of Beanibazar Police Station, said that the clash ensued between two groups - Pavel Mahmud, leader of district BCL unit and Abul Kashem Pallab, former joint convener of upazila BCL unit - in the morning.
Both groups exchanged fire during the clash, said the OC.
Khaled Ahmad, the activist of Pavel group, received bullet on his head and died on the spot, the OC added.
