Sodium lights smile on off limit flyover -The Asian Age

Hathirjheel-Sonargaon Hotel (Karwan Bazar) section of Magbazar-Mouchak-bound flyover has been closed for three days. Yet, all the lights are kept on during the day time.

Today, on the outskirts of Hatirjheel, it is seen that a bamboo barricade is made to stop the movement of the vehicles. The flyover's supervisory authority, Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), informed that this part of the flyover has been kept closed regarding some construction works in Hatirjheel.

While all kind of movement is closed, the burning lights on the both sides of the flyover is shocking. Abdul Hye, a private bank official in Karwan Bazar, said, " sometimes I find no light on during night time. Now the flyover is closed but the lights are on.”

When contacted, LGD's superintendent engineer Sushanta Kumar Paul said that the lights lit up automatically when the sky is cloudy. However, we are managing to off those lights.

On 17th May, the Hatirjheel-Sonargaon Hotel section of the flyover was opened for vehicular traffic.
