Razee Hassan made BFIU Chief Executive

Abu Hena Mohammad Razee Hassan has been appointed as the Chief Executive of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) which is equivalent to the status of deputy governor of Bangladesh Bank, the country's central bank. It may be added that earlier Razee Hassan served the central bank as a deputy governor for longer than five years. 

Ministry of Public Administration issued an order in this regard on Monday. The letter from Ministry of Public Administration states that Abu Hena Mohammad Razee Hassan as the Chief Executive of BFIU will have to give necessary guidelines, make required policies and take proper steps by consulting with the government to resist money laundering and terror finance.

According to Money Laundering Act 2012, Abu Hena Mohammad Razee Hassan's tenure will be up to his 65 years of age from the date of appointment which means he can hold the post till 10th September 2021.
