Journalist Shahriar Shahid passes away
President M Abdul Hamid yesterday expre-ssed profound shock and sorrow at the death of eminent journalist Shahriar Shahid, Managing Editor of BSS. In a condolence message, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Shahriar Shahid. In a condolence message, Sheikh Hasina recalled the contribution of Shahriar Shahid in the field of journalism.

Son of now defunct English daily Bangladesh Times' former editor late AKM Shahidul Haque, Shahriar Shahid is survived by his wife and a son. BSS unit of DUJ has expressed profound shock at his death.
