Bangladesh Coast Guard gets new chief

Rear Admiral M Ashraful Haq has been appointed as the new Chief of Bangladesh Coast guard. He is set to take office on Sunday. Haq began his career at Bangladesh Navy in 1982. Through the years, he gained vast experience at sea which has been enhanced through various trainings at home and abroad. He completed Staff Course and War Course from the Defence Service Command, Staff College, National Defence College in Dhaka's Mirpur. Besides, he completed Senior Staff Course from Public Sector Training Institute. Before his current appointment, he served as the Commander of Khulna Naval Area. He is married to Begum Farzana Kabir and blessed with a daughter.
