Addl IGP Khurshid asks to strengthen supervision in case investigation

Directives were given to the field level police officers for strengthening supervision in case investigation and bringing real criminals into book."Instructions were given to the field level police officers to strengthen supervision activities in the investigation of cases and bringing real criminals under law by carrying out their duties with sincerity," Additional Inspector General of Police (Addl IGP) M Khurshid Hossain asked at a virtual monthly crime review meeting held at the police headquarters on Tuesday.

All Metropolitan Police Commissioners, Range DIGs and Superintendents of Police (SP) joined the meeting virtually while DIGs-YM Belalur Rahman, Md Haider Ali Khan, Md Rezaul Haque and concerned officers were present at the meeting. Additional DIG Md Jalal Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury highlighted the overall crime situation during the last July in the meeting.

Addl IGP Khurshid asked the police officials for strengthening policing activities to prevent cases related to theft and robberies. He emphasized on creating public awareness by increasing public involvement through beat policing and community policing to prevent domestic violence.Khurshid also directed to take necessary security measures at the puja mandops ahead of the upcoming Durga Puja. He said that the intelligence surveillance should increase so that none can raise price of essentials by manipulating the market.Women and child abuse cases and abduction related cases have been decreased during the month of July compared to the month of June this year.
