Former Additional IGP Shafiqul Islam made PSC member

 
Former Additional Inspector General (Grade-1) of Police Md Shafiqul Islam, who was on post-retirement leave (PRL), has been appointed as member of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).

The contract and foreign recruitment section of the Public Administration Ministry issued a circular in this regard on Thursday, BSS reports.

The circular said that as per the Article 138 (1) of the Constitution, the President postponed the PRL and related facilitates of Shafiqul Islam and appointed him as a PSC member on condition of baring all work relations with other institutions or organizations.

He will hold the post for the next five years from the date of joining or until he reaches the age of 65 (whichever comes first).

Shafiqul Islam was the immediate past Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner.
