Secretary of Public Security Division and RAB DG to get service extension

 
Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Secretary to Public Security Division of Home Ministry and Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) M Khurshid Hossain are going to get service extension by one more year, reliable sources have informed. Their files have been meanwhile sent to the Prime Minister's Office. An office order on their service extension is likely to be issued right after getting the Prime Minister's approval.

Public Security Division Secretary Mostafizur Rahman is supposed to go into retirement on 24 May 2023. On the other hand, the service tenure of RAB Director General will come to an end next month. However, both of them will be kept in service by means of an extension reportedly.

Mostafizur Rahman joined Public Security Division as Secretary on 2 April 2023. Additional IGP Khurshid Hossain was transferred to RAB as its DG from Police Headquarters through a gazette notification on 22 September 2022. Mostafizur Rahman belongs to the 10th batch of Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) administrative cadre. He joined government service in 1991 as an Assistant Commissioner and Magistrate. He hails from Khulna district.

M Khurshid Hossain was an Additional Inspector General of Police in Police Headquarters before joining RAB as its Director General. He held different important posts in police force during his professional career. He hails from Gopalganj. He belongs to BCS 12th batch.
