Propaganda about BSEC Chairman's legal money

Propaganda about BSEC Chairman's legal money

An American company remitted a few lakh dollars to the bank account of Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam, Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) as rent for several floors of a building owned by BSEC Chairman. This money came into Bangladesh in terms of an agreement and Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam also paid the required amount of tax for this money though he was not BSEC Chairman when this agreement was signed. However, a dispute broke out between the partners of the company. Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam was not aware of this conflict. Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam resorted to court for a settlement of the issue. Relevant sources have informed that an organization named Organized Crime and Corruption Project (OCCRP) is instigating this propaganda against Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam.

Reliable sources have informed that a US-based company named Monarch Holdings INC sent 2 lakh 78 thousand US dollars to Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam in 2020. However, later on another company named Ming Global claimed the ownership of the above amount of money. At present the matter is in a sub judice status.

Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam told journalists on Thursday that the allegations brought against him by OCCRP are totally false and groundless. Sources have further stated that a vicious circle is propagating fabricated rumours against the BSEC Chairman to destabilize Bangladesh's stock markets. Reportedly some anti-liberation assemblages are also involved in this mischief.

Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam informed that a person called Julkarnine Sayer Khan alias Sami is behind the instigation of degrading the image of the BSEC Chairman. Professor Shibli Rubayat Ul Islam complained that OCCRP wanted to extort a big sum of money from him. OCCRP is trying to spoil the BSEC Chairman's fame having failed to extract the money from him.

The vicious circle always tries to tarnish the image of President, Prime Minister and other high-profile personalities, he added.
