Shawkat Hossain passes away

Sheikh Shawkat Hossain Nilu, chairman of a faction of National Peoples' Party (NPP), died at a city hospital on Saturday night. He was 65. The NPP leader was admitted to Square Hospital on Tuesday after he had fallen sick seriously. Later, he had been kept under life support for the past two days. He left behind wife and two daughters to mourn his death.

His first namaj-e-janaza will be held at Baitul Mukarram mosque on Monday. Shawkat will be buried at Banani Graveyard upon completion of his second namaj-e-janaza.
