Missing teenager's body found in Sonadia channel

The body of a teenager, who went missing while bathing in the sea at Cox's Bazar, have been found in Maheshkhali's Sonadia channel.

Divers found the body of Sudipta Dey around 11am Friday, three days after the 17-year-old went missing from Seagull point, said the tourist police.

Sudipta was swept away during low tide around 9am Tuesday while bathing with his friends who were on Eid vacation, said his uncle Sumon Pal.

He had passed Secondary School Certificate or SCC from Dhaka's Bir Shreshtha Noor Mohammad Rifles Public School and College this year.

Tourist police and lifeguards started a rescue drive following reports from his friends.

Sudipta's family are working to take his body to Dhaka from Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital, said his uncle Pal.
