Kim Jong-un has ordered his army to "be ready to strike at all times" after he received a report from his military chiefs on a plan to launch missiles towards the US territory of Guam, state media reported.

The despotic leader also warned Donald Trump that the US should make "the right choice" to prevent a war, reports Express.co.uk. Kim claimed he will "watch the actions of the US a little bit more" after the US President promised "fire and fury" on the hermit kingdom if they threaten US citizens again, KCNA reported.

The tyrant reportedly said: "The United States, which was the first to bring numerous strategic nuclear equipment near us, should first make the right decision and show through actions if they wish to ease tensions on the Korean peninsula and prevent a dangerous military clash."

They have released images of Kim Jong-un analyzing plans to strike Guam on the same day the crackpot leader said he wouldn't nuke the US territory for now.

The hermit kingdom's dictator appears to be playing mind games with Donald Trump as photos emerged of him looking at maps alongside military chiefs during an inspection of North Korea's Strategic Forces.

The large map appears to show a straight line between northeastern North Korea and Guam as he examines a plan to fire four missiles to land near the US Pacific territory, home to American forces.

In photos released with the KCNA report, Kim Jong-un was seen holding a baton and pointing at a map showing a flight path for the missiles appearing to start from North Korea's east coast, flying over Japan towards Guam.

It follows Kim ordering his army to "be ready to strike at all times" after he received a report from his military chiefs on a plan to launch missiles towards the US territory of Guam.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Mattis used an article in the Wall Street Journal to emphasize US efforts to defuse the crisis. Their article said: "The US has no interest in regime change. "While diplomacy is our preferred means of changing North Korea's course of action, it is backed by military options."

The despotic leader also warned President Trump the US should make "the right choice" to prevent a war. He claimed it would be the "most delightful historic moment" when the weapons "wring the windpipes of the Yankees and point daggers at their necks", according to state media.

However, there has been signs of easing in tension on the Korean peninsula as Kim said he will "watch the actions of the US a little bit more" after the US President promised "fire and fury" on the hermit kingdom if they threaten US citizens again.

The conflict has the potential to spark World War Three with military heavyweights Russia and China forced to pick sides.
