After the hat-trick-triumph of Peshkar Cultural Forum, Raaga and Rhythm 4th Session mesmerizes the classical-enthusiasts on the evening of January 15, 2016 at Chhayanaut Sangeet Vidyayatan. The raaga mejlis is made colourful by performances of Eshraj, Sitar, Classical Vocal and Mohon Veena. Tamnia Islam sets off the sail with her classical vocal recital, accompanied by Mir Naqibul Islam on table, and Talha Bin Ali on harmonium. The next performers cast their spell with Eshraj, by Ashok Kumar Sarker, and with Tabla by Swarup Hossain. Then the showstopper duo - Sitar maestro Amzad Hossain and Tabla layakari genius Mir Naqibul Islam enchant the hall with their jugalbandi before the final performance. In the end, an idiosyncratic instrument Peshkar introduces to their raga sessions - Mohon Veena by Dolan Kanungo. The journey of rhythm takes off with Tamnia's vocal recital of 'Kheyal'. Roads of the raaga-night glitter thereby with her Raaga Behag. Starting with short 'alaap', she performs 'madhyalaya tintaal' and then the bandish of Pandit Jnan Prakash Ghosh - "Neha chalchala behag ka nayna". Young tabla whiz maestro Mir Naqibul Islam and Talha Bin Ali on harmonium accompany Tamnia forming an ambience of ear-soothing classical evening. The performance ends with fast tintaal bandish - "lat uljhi suljha ja". The brother-sister jugalbandi -- Naqiul Islam and Tamnia Islam - spells magic in the beginning. The next classical magicians were Ashok Kumar Sarker on Eshraj, accompanied by Swarup Hossain on tabla. On 'Raaga Puriya Dhinesree'-Ashok starts with short aalap and then takes a tranquil turn to 'vilambit tintaal gaat'. The classical-charm was well-maintained by both the artistes. Their performance bids farewell with 'madhyalaya drut bandish'. The colour of this mejlis was brightened to its peak in the third performance of Amzad Khan and Mir Naqibul Islam.
