Two children drown in Jhenaidah

Two children of a physically challenged father died after getting drowned in a pond in Maheshpur upazila of the district on Friday.  The victims were identified as Madhuri, 9, and her brother Mahabub, 6.  The physically challenged father of the deceased Mostafa works as an office assistant at an NGO in Maheshpur.

Locals said, the children were playing near the pond. Mahabub was first to drown in the pond. Madhuri also drowned at one stage while she was trying to rescue her younger brother. Local people rescued Madhuri and Mahabub and sent them to Maheshpur Upazila Health Complex where doctor declared them dead.

After getting the death of two children, the physically challenged father was out of words and looked so sad, devastated. He said, he has no hope now to live in this world. Locals extended consols to him.
