Back in 1991, Bangladesh was used to with pop, folk genre type of music. A very small amount of people used to listen to hard rock and heavy music which was in English. Back in those days, even musicians could not think of doing some rock music. Suddenly there came out a different sound, such as high pitched vocals, fast guitars with distortion, blood pumping drum bits, and thought full lyrics with new types of tunes. That was nothing but the first album of pioneer heavy metal band of Bangladesh Warfaze.
Now this band has been listed fourth on the popular website thetoptens.com in the category of 'Top ten hard rock bands' around the world. TheTopTens is a collection of over 100,000 interactive top ten lists that anyone can vote on, add to, reorder, and more. The site has been online since 2005 and in that time has amassed a collection of millions of items to vote on and comments to read.
Warfaze had been on the top ten list for last three years, informed the band leader Sheikh Monirul Alam Tipu. "It was unbelievable for us when we heard the news. However, it is true that we are in the top ten list in the music category. The feeling can't be described in words. When we can see popular bands are breaking down, we are still a team and rocking the world," said Tipu.
The number one hard rock band in the list is Australian hard rock band ACDC, second spot belongs to American band Guns N Roses, third spot goes to English rock band Led Zepplin and American hard rock band Metallica is in the fifth spot.
Warfaze was formed in 1984 and since then it produced seven studio albums and one compiled album. With the release of their debut album, Warfaze introduced Rock, Heavy Metal music in Bengali language in Bangladesh. Though not in English language, Warfaze captured rock music lover with their brilliant compositions in universal language of music.
