Dhaka North City Corporation's (DNCC) late mayor Annisul Huq carried out several valiant eviction drives successfully including removal of illegal truck stands from Tejgaon during 2015.

He succeeded in reducing traffic congestion in different parts of DNCC through his bold steps but in his absence those areas are once again being recaptured by unauthorized occupants. Under these circumstances, DNCC is apparently losing its working pace following the mayor's death, reliable sources have stated.

A number of administrative and development programs of DNCC have reportedly slowed down after Annisul Huq passed away. DNCC Nagar Bhaban in Gulshan is suffering from lack of dynamism following his demise as a result of which waste disposal, curtailing traffic jams and some more vital jobs have been affected, relevant sources have informed.

DNCC Panel Mayor Osman Goni has said that he has been working hard to cover up the void generated by Annisul Huq's death. It may take some more time to regain working speed at DNCC in Annisul's absence, Osman Goni added. Reportedly roads in several parts of Aminbazar, Tejgaon, Mohakhali, Mirpur, Abdullahpur and some more places are undergoing much disorder due to the mayor's death.

At the same time some politically backed up contractors are visiting DNCC frequently as Annisul Huq is no more, sources close to DNCC have informed. It may be added that Annisul Huq ran DNCC very firmly in a dedicated, efficient and unbiased way and he never entertained anyone under political consideration.
