Srabanti Chatterjee to romance with Taskeen-Tahsan

Surprise around the film Jodi Ekdin by Mohammad Mostofa Kamal Raz seems to have become a roller coaster. Very not recently ago the surprise blast started with Dhaka Attack famed Taskeen Rahman when he signed the contract. With that buzz still afresh, another blast came in the New Year when for the first time Tahsan agreed to be a hero in that film.

Raz played quite a trick by keeping it secret that singer turned actor Tahsan signed the contract. The film has already taken the center stage even before the shooting. Now, the director has recently signed Tollywood sensation Srabanti Chatterjee to play the female lead opposite both Tahsan and Taskeen.

Raz announced the news on Facebook on Thursday by posting, "Made the arrangement for my daughter's wedding. The name of my daughter is Jodi Ekdin. Before starting the shooting, I think everyone should know about the heroine in my film. She has been given the work permit already. She is none other than Kolkata's Srabanti".

"Some might have question that why I have casted a foreign actor instead of the local ones. My answer to them is that when our local actors like Shakib Khan and Jaya Ahsan is acting in Kolkata's movie, Srabanti can act in our movies as well. There is nothing wrong with the notion. Besides, Srabanti is from Barisal so her root is here," Raz clarified his stance of hiring a foreign actor for a key role.

"She will be seen in a character named Aritri. The quality I was searching for this character, I have found those in Srabanti. I have put a lot of thought on this character and then selected her. When the film will be on screen, everyone will see that how perfect she is for the character," he added.

"I hope audience will love the chemistry between Srabanti, Tahsan and Taskeen," he further said.  The "Champion" actor, who is set to play "Aritri" in the film, said that she is excited to work with Raz. "I felt good after hearing the story. He has wonderfully described it to me. I am impressed with the trailer and songs of the film. I hope we are about to do a beautiful work," Raz said quoting Srabanti. Produced by Bengal Multimedia Limited, "Jodi Ekdin" is the fifth feature film of Raz.
