Shilpir Pashe Found-ation organized a memorial program in honor of late Dhaka North City Corpor-ation mayor Annisul Huq on Wednesday evening. The well-wishers of Annisul Huq recalled their memories with him at the program on the Bangla Academy premises.
Trustee Member and Chairman of Shilpir Pashe Foundation Professor Emeritus Anisuzzaman, Vice-Chairman Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Cultural Minister Asadu-zzaman Noor, Magician Jewel Aich and Writer Selina Hossain were present at the event, among other noted personalities.
At the program, Annisul's widow Rubana Huq said: "I look at my children and find Annisul. I and my family members always feel his existence. My children and grandchild always remind me of him. He is always with us. He was my best friend."
Writer Professor Syed Manzoorul Islam said: "Annisul was willing to make every possible change for the betterment of Dhaka. He dreamed of turning the city into a model town where people would visit to witness its beauty."
A small video on Annisul's life was played at the program. The program began by asking everyone to take a minute of silence remembering late Annisul Huq and singer Shammi Akhter, who breathed her last on Tuesday. Speakers also highlighted the versatile career of Mayor Annisul Huq and recalled him with great respect. He is well-known for his work. He will always be recalled with dignity, the speakers added.
