Can anyone remember Ananda Ashru where Salman Shah played an amnesia patient's character? The song Tumi Mor Jiboner Bhabona from that film became an instant hit among the Salman Shah's fan. The film was released in 1997, a year after the demise of the heartthrob actor and is still popular.
Now, Dhallywood is set to get another Ananda Ashru soon. The Mon Chuyeche Mon famed director Mustafizur Rahman Manik has announced that his next film will be titled as the same popular film of Salman Shah.
However, though the title is same, the film will not be a remake or sequel of the previous one. The film will revolve around an original story, penned by Sudipto Saeed Khan.
Then why borrowing the name? The director confessed that he had affection for the 90's blockbuster film. "The title has a particular feeling. I was in love with the title for a long time.
A film's title can be reused if the first release of the film passes a decade. I have applied for the title Ananda Ashru to the director's guild. The title has been registered under my name on January 15," said Manik, the director.
Ananda Ashru will feature Symon Sadik and Mahiya Mahi. The film will also star veteran actors Misha Sowdagar and Ali Raj. Principal shooting will start on the first day of February in locations outside Dhaka.
