Shooter Shakil Ahmed bagged the 4th gold medal for Bangladesh in the 50meter Pistol event of the 12th South Asian Games at Khalilipara Shooting Range, Guwahati, India on Wednesday.To clinch the gold, Shakil scored 187.6 points, just 0.3 ahead of the Indian shooter Om Prakash.With Shakil's gold, Bangladesh pulled four gold medals in the ongoing South Asian sports carnival.Weightlifter Mabia Akhter Simanta clinched the first gold medal for Bangladesh in the women's 63-kg weight category at the Bhogeshwari Phukanani Indoor Stadium in Dispur, Guwahati on Sunday. Swimmer Mahfuza Khatun Shila clinched the 2nd gold medal in the Women's 100-metre breast stroke at Dr Zakir Hussain Aquatic Complex also on Sunday.Setting a new SA Games record, swimmer Mahfuza clinched her 2nd and country's 3rd gold medal in the Women's 50-metre Breast Stroke at the same venue on Monday. With a total of 43 medals including 4-gold, 10-silver and 29-bronze medals, Bangladesh is now placing fourth slot in medals tally, behind India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.A 521-member contingent is representing Bangladesh in the ongoing 12th South Asian Games taking place in Guwahati and Shillong from February 5-16.
