Who are the possible winners of National Award 2016?

National Film Awards is the most prominent film award ceremony in Bangladesh. Established in 1975, this is the only film awards given by the Government of Bangladesh. Every year, a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry.

The film jury board has submitted the names of the nominees for National Film Award 2016 to the cabinet committee on National Award for approval on Thursday. After the approval, the National Film Award 2016 will be announced.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will hand over the trophy to the winners. This year 25 among 28 categories will be honored with this prestigious award. It has been informed that, no artistes were worthy in Best Singer, Best Comedian and Best Child Artist (Special) category.

For Oggatonama film, Faridur Reza Sagar's name has been listed in the Best Film category. He is the managing director of Impress Telefilm Ltd and Channel-i. 'Ghran' has been enlisted as the Best Short Film while 'Born Together (Jonmo Sathi)' as Best Documentary.


Amitabh Reza Chowdhury's name has been suggested for the Best Director category for his film 'Aynabaji' while Chanchal Chowdhury has been suggested for Best Actor for the same film.

On the other hand, Nusrat Imrose Tisha's name has been in the list as Best Actress for her extraordinary performance in 'Ostitto' film. Aliraz and Fazlur Rahman Babu's name have been suggested for the Best Supporting Male Actor while Tania Ahmed has been suggested for the Best Supporting Actress for 'Krishnopokkho' film.

Shahiduzzaman Selim has been enlisted for Best Villain for his extraordinary acting in 'Oggatonama'.Alternatives names were suggested in all categories except the lifetime achievement award. Touquir Ahmed's name has been suggested alternative ly in the Best Director category while Shakib Khan as Best Actor and Kushum Sikder as Best Actress.
