Bishorjon's sequel film Bijoya was announced on April 25 with the presence of Kaushik Ganguly, Jaya Ahsan, Prosenjit, Parambrata and Abir Chatterjee. -Collected
Kaushik Ganguly directed film Bishorjon is going to have a sequel movie. Titled 'Bijoya', the film will see Jaya Ahsan, popular actress of Bangladesh, once again in the character of Padma. Nasir Ali character will be played by Abir Chatterjee as before.
The film was announced on April 25 with the presence of Bishorjan director, actors Prosenjit and Parambrata Chattopadhyay. The program was held at Hotel Hindusthan, Kolkata where Jaya's new movie Bijoya was announced.
After the announcement, Jaya expressed her joy by saying, "Because of love I have received from the audience after Bishorjon, I have to take the responsibility and return the same with this film. I hope Padma will be successful to get more love from the audience through this movie."
About the film, the director said, "We generally observe Bijoya after Bishorjon; the film will celebrate in the same way. If the audiences tell that Bijoya was not the same as Bishonjon, it won't matter. But if they say that Bijoya was even better than Bishorjon, we wouldn't be more proud."
Giving a slight hint of the story, Kaushik said, "In Bishorjon, Nasir Ali came to Bangladesh. But in Bijoya, Padma will come to Kolkata. You all saw what Padma did for Nasir Ali in Bishorjon. Now you will see how Padma will adapt herself in Kolkata."
Meanwhile, Jaya Ahsan shared her excitement through social media. She wrote, "Bishorjon is very close to my heart. Padma, Nasir Ali, Gonesh Mandal, every character was like a living canvas. These characters are going back on the silver screen very soon with Bijoya. I believe Bijoya will also blow your mind like Bishorjon did."
Bishorjon has been the biggest achievement of Jaya Ahsan's career to date. She bagged the award for Best Actress in the "popular" category for her stellar performance in the Indo-Bangla joint venture movie. She received the award from veteran director Sujoy Ghosh on Saturday in Kolkata's Science City Auditorium at the third edition of the Jio Filmfare Awards (East). Also she has been known as one of the most popular actors in Kolkata for the last few years. Jaya had previously been nominated for her performances in "Aborto" and "Eagle'r Chokh".
The actor has wrapped up the shooting schedule for her first home production "Debi" in Bangladesh. Now, she is also busy with Birsa Dasgupta's upcoming film "Crisscross". In this women-centric drama, she takes on the role of an arrogant and snobbish businesswoman who is running an ad agency quite efficiently. Reportedly, this particular role was initially offered to Swastika Mukherjee but she rejected the offer as the content did not look convincing to her.
