Contesting over 12 thousand competitors, Mim Mantasha has been selected as the Lux-Channel I Superstar-2018.In addition to the judges' and viewers' votes as well as overall performance, she has been awarded the crown this year.
On Friday evening, Bidya Sinha Mim, another Lux-Channel I superstar, gave Mim Manashasha the winner's crown in the grand finale held at the Hall of Fame in city's Bangabandhu International Conference Center.
Sarowar Azad Brishti became the first runner up of this year's competition while the second runner-up is Samia Athoi.As a Lux-Channel I superstar, Mim got a brand new car and five lakh taka in cash while Brishti got four and Athoi got three lakh taka in cash.
Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Channel I, handed over the prizes to them.On the occasion, cultural affairs minister Asaduzzaman Noor, dramatist Ali Zaker and actress Rumana Rashid Ishita were present as special judges along with three regular judges Sadiya Islam Mou, Tahsan Khan and Arefin Shuvo.
The results were based on the judges' points given during the finale, votes from the audience and points from previous rounds. Mim Mantasha is a final year student at Jahangirnagar University's (JU) Fine Arts Department.
This was the second Lux Super Star title from the same institution. Zakia Bari Mamo, who won the competition in 2006, was also a student of JU's Drama and Dramatics Department.
