I am who I have been all the time, says Mantasha

Beating twelve thousand participants across the country, Mim Mantasha, students of Fine Arts in Jahangirnagar University grabbed this year's Lux Channel i Superstar 2018 crown. Recently she opened up about her life, career and future planning.

"I can't believe that I won the crown. It is such a feeling that can't be described. Every person I know is super happy about this and everyone is really appreciating me," said Mantasha.

"I am obviously very happy about this but actually I am still digesting the whole matter. Still, I feel that nothing has changed. I am who I have been all the time," added she with a smile. "However, being the winner has brought a lot of responsibility upon me. I have to show the world that I am the superstar of this country. For that, I have to work very hard," added Mantasha.

Who inspired her the most? In a question like that, she answered, "My elder sister Mahmuda Akhter Snigdha inspired me the most. She always used to say that I can do it if I try. I will be forever grateful to her."

About herself, she said, "I was born in Pabna. I finished my secondary school from Adarsha Girl's High School and high school from Mahila College. Later I got admitted into the Fine Arts in Jahangirnagar University. I did not live in Pabna for a long time. I had to stay in Dhaka for sometime as my father got transferred here. I also spent some time in Rajshahi as well."

Interestingly, Mantasha once wanted to be an astronaut. "There was a time when I wanted to be an astronaut. Later, that desire changed, and I wanted to be a painter. That's why I got admitted in Fine Arts at Jahangirnagar. I thought I will do very well in this subject. With all my heart, I wanted to be an artist," said she.

However, her interest seems to be shifted towards acting. Why did she deviate? In a question like that Mantasha said, "To get involved with Lux Channel i Superstar was a sudden decision. I want to learn about myself. I want to know what I can do and how far I can go with all my skill. Every people around me suggested that I will do well in acting, therefore, I want to see whether I can do well or not."

About her future plan, she said, "I still need to learn many perks of acting. At first, I just want to learn, and then I will think about doing acting professionally. I just won the crown; I don't want to rush into anything. I still think that I am in that grooming camp. There has been a talk about doing a drama with Tahsan. I will start my training from there."

Tahsan was the judge at the competition and now he will act against Mantasha. About having him as her costar she said, "It is obviously very big thing for me. I can't actually describe the feeling, but it is a strange one. I hope I can learn many things from him through this drama."
