MTB elects new chair, vice-chair

The Board of Directors of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd has elected Md Hedayetullah and Khwaja Nargis Hossain as new Chairman and Vice Chairman of the bank respectably at the 222nd meeting of the Board of Directors of the bank held on May 31, 2018.

Md Hedayetullah, a Sponsor Director of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd (MTB) and Chairman of Hedayetullah Securities Ltd, has been elected Chairman of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd (MTB) and of its three subsidiary companies -- MTB Securities Limited, MTB Capital Limited and MTB Exchange (UK) Limited.

Prior to his appointment, he was the Vice Chairman of Mutual Trust Bank from February 26, 2016 to May 30, 2018. Earlier, he had served as Chairman of the Board Executive Committee of the bank. Md Hedayetullah also serves as the Managing Director of FB Footwear Ltd, Managing Director of Footbed Footwear Ltd, Director of Apex Tannery Ltd and Director of Apex Property Development Ltd. He has obtained the BSc (Honors) degree in Leather Technology from the British School of Leather Technology, Northampton, UK and MA in International Business from Webster University, Regents College in London, UK.

Khwaja Nargis Hossain, Managing Director of SAHCO Securities Limited and also the Corporate Director of SAHCO International Limited, has been elected as the Vice Chairman of the bank. Khwaja Nargis Hossain is presently serving as the Member of BOAO Forum for Asia (BFA), China, a non-profit international organization formed by twenty six Asian countries and Australia for socio-economic development of the people of Asia and rest of the world. Hossain has received a Master's Degree in Islamic History from the University of Dhaka.
