22 public holidays for 2019
The Cabinet on Monday approved the proposed list of holidays for the 2019 calendar year with 14 general holidays and eight more by the executive order of the government.
The approval was given at the regular weekly meeting of the Cabinet held at the Prime Minister’s Office with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam said the 14 general holidays will include three weekly holidays.
Apart from these 22 days of public holidays, Shafiul Alam said, there will also be three optional holidays for various religious communities of the country.
