Sheikh Selim in a firm position

The eleventh parliamentary is approaching. Candidates of different political parties including Awami League and BNP have been electioneering in their respective constituencies after the allocation of the symbols.

Like other candidates, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, an AL candidate for Gopalganj-2 constituency, has continued the election campaign in full swing in the constituency. Local leaders and activists of Awami League and its front organizations have been working relentlessly with a view to ensuring the victory of former minister Sheikh Selim again.

Gopalganj Sadar upazila consists of 21 union and one municipality and the remaining 7 unionis of Kashiani. The constituency has 3 lakh 9 thousand 8 of 33 people. Of these, 1 lakh 54 thousand 672 male and 1 lakh 55 thousand 161 people are women. Sheikh Selim was elected Member of Parliament (MP) first in a by-election in 1980. Since, his has been serving people of the area.

He has now become a guardian of the seat as he has no political vengeance. He has won the hearts of people with his love.  Gopalganj has fame for the communal harmony. Sheikh Selim always works for maintaining equality among people of all religions.

By dint of his development works, the lifestyle of people in his area has changed. In order to highlight the government's success and development, party leaders and activists have been distributing leaflets, handbills among people.  Sheikh Selim has called upon people to remain vigilant against conspiracies.
