A broken bridge lays unrepaired for 31 years at Horgoj union under Saturia in Manikgonj causing locals' immense suffering. The leaders of the area promised to repair the bridge but to no avail. Due to the flood in 1988, the bridge got destroyed and remains that way till now. As a result, people of Horgoj, Fufurhati, Janna, Tilli and Gorparha union faces a lot of trouble while trying to cross this place.  

Ismail of Noyapara village in Saturia said, 'before we had a 35 meter long bridge which helped in connecting with other villages, but now it gets very hard for us to use this road. The government has not yet taken any steps to repair it either causing us to suffer a lot.'

Locals also informed The Asian Age, In monsoon the people cross that crushed bridge by a small boat with 5 tk per person. But at times, many suffer due to the absence of a boat at night. Atoyer Molla, Member of Noyapara village under Horgoj union said, 'Farmers of the village cultivate many vegetables, but fail to sell them properly due to the broken bridge.'

A college student of Molla para village under Horgoj union said, 'due to broken bridge Human Hauler, Autos, are unable to in service, as a result, we have to walk a long way in order to reach school or college. Addressing the matter, Md Anower Hossain Khan Joti, Chairman of Horgoj union said, 'Our Health Minister assured us that he will try to repair the broken bridge as soon as possible.'

Bosir Uddin Thandu, the Chairman of Saturia said, 'This matter has already been discussed in the Upazila Improvement Committee.' The Engineer Md Ayub Ali of Saturia upazila said, 'Two roads are not being able to connect due to the broken bridge.
