PM mourns death of Rashid Suhrawardy

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rashid Suhrawardy, the only son of the legendary political leader, former Prime Minister of erstwhile Pakistan and the president of All Pakistan Awami League late Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy. In a condolence message, the prime minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family. Rashid Suhrawardy died at his London residence on February 7 last. According to police, the cause of his death has not yet been known officially as he was found dead at his residence, Press Minister Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury of Bangladesh High Commission in London said in a release yesterday.
