Chief of Staff of Bangladesh Army General Aziz Ahmed raised the flags of five units belonging to 17 Infantry Division in Sylhet Cantonment on Wednesday. At that time he instructed all army personnel to stay on high alert to face any threat.
The five newly commissioned units of 17 Infantry Division are 161 Field Workshop Company, 42 Bangladesh Infantry Regiment, 65 East Bengal Regiment, 126 Brigade Signal Company and Static Signal Company.
Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed arrived at Sylhet Cantonment on Wednesday. He was received by Area Commander General SM Shamim Uz Zaman. A parade was organized to salute General Aziz Ahmed. All officers and troops of Sylhet Cantonment were present at that time.
General Aziz Ahmed told all members of Bangladesh Army to pay honor to their superiors and to work with confidence, compassion, fraternity, discipline and professionalism.
Through the inauguration of the five new units of 17 Infantry Division, another milestone has been added to Bangladesh Army's march towards Forces Goal 2030.
